2026 CE Course Schedule
CONTINUING EDUCATION WEB COURSE OVERVIEW
These courses comply with Pennsylvania's Continuing Education (CE) requirements. Each course is presented using a combination of live personal instruction and a PowerPoint presentation via webinar. Attendees will be able to ask questions to further facilitate the learning process. The live webinar format enables attendees the ability to access traditional face-to-face classroom-type instruction at a safe learning distance. Students who attend the entire CE course will be issued a CE certificate based upon attendance. The following is an overview of the courses offered:
Artificial Intelligence - Understanding the Exposure (#138731) ($29 - 1 CE Credit) - This program will provide practitioners with a general overview of artificial intelligence (AI), generative artificial intelligence (GAI), machine learning and their impact on insurance practitioners and society at large. Emphasis will be placed on illustrating AI’s effect on insurance job reorientation, AI insurance coverages applicable to the public and the usage of policy endorsements and policy language to either provide and/or eliminate coverage related to the AI exposure. Contractual Liability (#135358) ($29 - 2 CE Credits) - This program will analyze Contractual Liability from a coverage perspective. Emphasis is placed on understanding the contractual policy language of the Commercial General Liability Policy and the Business Auto Policy and their application in actual practice settings. The types of hold harmless/indemnity agreements and the difference between contractual liability and additional insured status will also be addressed. Pennsylvania Insurance Ethics (#138124) ($39 - 3 CE Credits) - This program is the mandatory continuing education ethics course requirement under Pennsylvania Act 142 of 2024. The application of ethical conduct related to statutes and regulations in everyday practice settings will be addressed. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the Pennsylvania statutes and regulations to promote compliance with state and federal regulations that support the Commonwealth’s goal of protecting its residents and promoting producer ethical conduct. Pennsylvania Flood Insurance (#138125) ($29 - 2 CE Credits) - This program is the mandatory continuing education flood insurance course requirement under Pennsylvania Act 142 of 2024. The program will address the flood hazard, the applicable flood exclusions in common standard property policies, and methods and means to mitigate property loss due to the flooding hazard. Emphasis will be placed on reviewing the National Flood Insurance Program and its application with the goal of increasing the producer’s awareness of the flood exposure. Understanding Home-Based Business Exposure (#133064) ($29 - 2 CE Credits) - This program will review the common insurance policies used to insure the home-based business exposure. Emphasis is placed on understanding the limitations found in the Homeowner Policy with a review of endorsements and other coverages used to meet the needs of home-based businesses and the expanded work from home exposure. Social Security - Survivorship and Retirement Planning Strategies (#137578) ($29 - 2 CE Credits) - This program will analyze Social Security from a coverage and filing strategy perspective. Emphasis will be placed on understanding eligibility, retirement, survivor and disability benefits, and the processes required to file for benefits under the Social Security Act. Personally owned life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plans and their integration with Social Security benefits will also be addressed. Pennsylvania Long Term Care Insurance - 4 Hour Certification (#129488) ($49 - 4 CE Credits) - This program is the mandatory course for individuals selling Long Term Care insurance. It addresses LTC needs, providers and services, federal and state laws governing long term care, Medicare, Pennsylvania Medicaid, Pennsylvania Partnerships policies, taxation, self-funding, and other alternatives to manage long term care needs, and consumer suitability. Planning for Retirement (#135611) ($29 - 2 CE Credits) - This program will address funding for retirement and health care needs. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the eligibility of Social Security retirement benefits along with both qualified and non-qualified retirement planning sources. Businessowner Policy Analysis (#130924) ($29 - 2 CE Credits) - This program will analyze the Businessowners Policy from a coverage perspective. Eligibility, differences in forms (basic v. special), optional coverages, liability coverage, and common endorsements are reviewed. An analysis of the Businessowners Policy in comparison to the Commercial Package Policy will be examined illustrating key differences. Pennsylvania Annuity Suitability - Best Interest Standard (#134160) ($49 - 4 CE Credits) - This program is the mandatory continuing education course for individuals with the authority to sell annuities in Pennsylvania. It will address annuity principles and concepts, annuity uses, Pennsylvania and Federal taxation, Pennsylvania sales practices including replacement, and annuity suitability best interest requirements as mandated by the Pennsylvania Insurance Department. Emphasis is placed on understanding annuity uses with a focus on promoting consumer suitability based upon Pennsylvania's revised Annuity Suitability Best Interest Standard under Act 99. COURSE INSTRUCTOR
Dr. George E. Krauss, CPCU, CLU, ChFC, ARM is the instructor. George has authored numerous books on insurance including the Pennsylvania licensing texts Essentials of Property Casualty Insurance and Essentials of Life, Accident and Health Insurance; annotated analyses of the Homeowners Policy, the Personal Auto Policy and the Dwelling Policy published by the Rough Notes Company and the Businessowners Policy, the Commercial Property Policy, and the Business Auto Policy published by the National Underwriter Company. George is a graduate of Robert Morris University completing his master’s and doctoral studies at The Pennsylvania State University. He has been retained in over 300 legal cases involving various aspects of agent, broker, and insurance company practices.
REGISTRATION FEE
Course registration fee for each course is indicated in the course information. Attendees will be e-mailed the PowerPoint presentation used in the CE course. Digital/tape recording of the course is prohibited. Class may be cancelled if attendance is insufficient. Cancellation by the student must be in writing and received at least 7 days before class.
